Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District will commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant celebration that promises to blend cultural richness with community spirit. In partnership with Fenton High School, the park district invites everyone to join the fun at the Pavilion at White Pines Golf Club, located at 500 W. Jefferson St. in Bensenville, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.
The Bensenville Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration is set to immerse attendees in the sights, sounds, and flavors of Hispanic culture. The event will include a Kermes (traditional Hispanic fair) with authentic Mexican food, including an early-bird tamale take out from 9-11 a.m. at the Pavilion entrance. The Kermes includes a diverse Mexican food menu, with all food sales contributing to Fenton High School.
The live music stage will feature Mariachi and Norteña performances and Folklorico dancers, providing an authentic and vibrant atmosphere for all to enjoy. Fenton’s mariachi band will perform from 10 to 11:15 a.m. to start the day, which includes performances from Mariachi Palmero, Ballet Folklorico Tayahua and Descarga Norteña. Additionally, the winners of the Bensenville Hispanic Heritage Month Poster Contest will be announced during the celebration.
Admission to the event is free, but attendees can indulge in Mexican culinary delights through food ticket purchases, available on-site or in advance. Cash and credit card payments are accepted for beverages.
Please note that there will be no ATM available, and all sales are final. Event parking is provided free of charge at White Pines Golf Club, with accessible parking available on-site.
