Spend time with friends in nature learning to make a ‘mossterpiece’
Bensenville, Ill.—Here’s your chance to create a “mossterpiece” using different types of moss while spending time with friends in the natural surrounds of Fischer Farm from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6.
Participants in the Bensenville Park District’s new DIY Moss Art class will get an introduction to plants and learn how to forage for moss, preserve and best arrange their green art in addition to learning tips and tricks for assembling a frame to hold their finished moss art masterpiece.
“Moss art is great because it allows you to bring some greenery into your space without having a green thumb,” says Program Supervisor Lisa Semetko, CPRP. “All the moss is preserved, so when your project is finished, there is no watering, pruning or upkeep. You’ll just be left with a gorgeous bit of nature that will last for years.”
The class will take place inside the barn at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Grand Ave, Bensenville.
The fee is just $20 ($30 for non-residents) for materials, and participants must register at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood Street, before Wednesday, August 3.
