Fall program registration begins Aug. 6 (in-district) and 7
Bensenville, Ill. (August 1, 2024)— The Bensenville Park District unveiled its fall program lineup, featuring a variety of new activities and special events designed for all ages. New program highlights include those in early childhood, cultural and fine arts programs, youth and adult sports as well as two new special events in addition to fall staples such as Live at White Pines, Harvest Fest, Monster Mash, the Veterans Day Breakfast and Farmside Christmas.
Alphabet Appetite: Children discover the letters of the alphabet through interactive stories and games in a small group setting. This playful learning program includes lunch with friends and a snack linked to the letter of the day.
Colorful Creations: Kids unleash their inner artist by exploring different art materials and tools to create masterpieces. From splatter paintings to whimsical watercolors, each class offers a creative adventure.
Create A Play: Students flex their creativity by writing, casting, directing, and performing short scripts. The final performance of these masterpieces will be revealed during the last class.
Storybook Drama: This introduction to creative drama brings fun, read-aloud books to life through imaginary play, crafts, and simple improvisational games.
Scenes and Songs: Participants learn a short scene and song, incorporating dance, to experience being part of a full show. Roles are evenly distributed and culminate in a final performance.
Kids Sculpting Adventure: For ages 8-14, this class explores the art of sculpting with air-dry clay, teaching basics like coiling, shaping, and texturing.
Colorful Canvas: Designed for kids aged 8-12, this painting class introduces young artists to the joy of painting through colorful projects and playful techniques.
Art Fusion Adventures: Children ages 6-11 experiment with various art materials and techniques to create unique, multidimensional artwork.
Winter Wonderland Workshop: 3D Snowflake Crafting: Inspired by Buddy the Elf’s ‘Snowflake Spectacular’ workshop, this holiday crafting class creates stunning 3D paper snowflake decorations.
SportStars Academy Levels I & II: Children embark on a sports-filled journey, experiencing a new sport each week while learning essential values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Level II helps athletes find their passion with experienced instructors.
GoalGetter Academy: This soccer class focuses on perfecting ball control, ball-handling techniques, and goal-scoring abilities, offering a blend of fun, skill-building, and teamwork.
Taekwondo (Youth and Adult): Taught under the direction of G. Master Hong Kim, this martial art class offers benefits like improved concentration, self-esteem, fitness, and self-defense skills. Belt testing is available.
Wood Street Fitness will offer a new Serenity Sisters Women’s Wellness Yoga Escape on October 11, and watch for the new Haunted District Saturday evening, October 26.
