Fischer Farm to host ‘Farmside Christmas’ December 4

Holiday tree-lighting will take place at 4:30 p.m.

Bensenville, Ill.— Winter is coming, and the Bensenville Park District invites area residents to enjoy some holiday cheer at its annual ‘Farmside Christmas,’ from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 4, at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Grand Ave., Bensenville.

“Come to Fischer Farm and enjoy the holiday lights and decorations as you walk the grounds of the historic farm,” says Manager of Facilities and Special Events Todd Linder. “Enjoy ice sculptures and holiday crafts before warming up around a bonfire with hot chocolate and treats. We’ll have carolers singing festive music, and don’t forget to get your picture taken with Santa!”

The carolers are scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m., and visitors will also see the park district’s Adopt-a-Snowman entries on display at the farm throughout the month. Live animals, including reindeer, as well as horse-drawn carriage rides are also a part of the schedule.

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in the barn throughout the event, and photos will be taken and posted to the BvilleParks.org website for download at a later date.

The highlight each year is the illumination of the farm’s Christmas tree. The tree-lighting is scheduled to take place at 4:30 p.m.

‘Farmside Christmas’ is free for adults age 16 and older, and children age 2 and under are also free. The fee is $10 per child age 3-15. Free parking is available.
