Bensenville, Ill. (May 23, 2024)— The Bensenville Park District announced the opening of the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad, located at 1100 W. “We share our patrons’ disappointment that the water park will open later than planned,” explains Executive Director Joe Vallez, noting the impact of the water park’s renovation schedule on the decision. “The Bensenville Park District will always be on the side of the safety and well-being of those we serve as our top priority, and we thank our patrons for their continued patience.”

During the spring of 2024, work began on renovations to the water park, which included removal and installation of a new swimming pool basin in addition to updates to the water slides.

“The good news is that the updates made in 2024 are expected to keep the water park in good working order for another 20 years,” Vallez adds.

Additionally, Wood Street Fitness has postponed the start of its Aqua Zumba classes to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, and 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, weather and temperature permitting. Swimming lessons are scheduled to begin Tuesday morning, June 4, weather and temperature permitting.

As a thanks to water park season passholders for their patience, the district is providing four additional guest passes per passholder household that purchased prior to May 27 valued at more than $50 for use during the 2024 season. Passholder guest passes may be claimed at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, located at 1000 W. Wood Street in Bensenville.
