Fischer Farm’s “History Harvest” invites young people to learn about local history

Young history aficionados are in for a treat at Fischer Farm’s captivating “History Harvest” program. Aimed at children aged 6-10, this engaging series of monthly sessions offers an opportunity to delve into the rich history of Bensenville and the Fischer Family.

“History Harvest” promises afternoons filled with educational fun, including history-themed games, crafts, scavenger hunts and fascinating hands-on local history and heritage. Sessions will be held at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Old Grand Avenue in Bensenville, after school on Friday afternoons Oct. 13, Nov. 10 and Dec. 8.

To participate, interested individuals are encouraged to register at the Deer Grove Leisure Center at least one week before each session. The program fee is a mere $10, with a special rate of $8 for residents residing within the Bensenville Park District boundaries.

“’History Harvest’ at Fischer Farm offers a fantastic opportunity for children to explore the vibrant tapestry of Bensenville’s past in an engaging and interactive manner,” says Farm Manager Christine Shiel. “It’s a chance to cultivate an appreciation for local history while having a great time.”
