Monster Mash: Bensenville’s family-friendly Halloween bash

Free Oct. 29 event features children’s costume contest, bounce houses and candy

Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District invites area residents to do the mash—the Monster Mash, that is—from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 29, at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood Street, Bensenville.

Those attending Bensenville’s Monster Mash will get in the Halloween spirit early by taking a trip through the DGLC’s Halloween-themed activity walk, ending in the gym, where kids of all ages will be able to enjoy many fun activities. The event is free, and advance registration is not necessary.

“Monster Mash 2022 will have all the staple entertainment that our community has come to expect from our special events, along with some exciting new additions,” says Manager of Facilities and Events Todd Linder. “We’ve constructed a new path through the leisure center this year and changed up the room to add more excitement.”

Children and families can come dressed in costumes, and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Winners will be announced online on Halloween, Monday, October 31.

Attendees of the family-friendly Monster Mash also will enjoy the carnival games, inflatable bounce houses, live critters and, of course, free candy while supplies last.

Information about this and other park district programs and activities can be found on BvilleParks.org.
