The Bensenville Park District will be applying non-selective contact herbicide to the turf on fence lines, parking lots, park signs, paths, courts and sidewalks at the following locations beginning the week of June 3, weather permitting:
- Arbor Park (June 11)
- Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad (June 20)
- Breiter-Palm Park (June 10)
- Deer Grove Leisure Center (June 13)
- DiOrio Park (June 6)
- Krempels Park (June 18)
- Lions Park (June 18)
- Pines Park (June 11)
- Poplar Park (June 11)
- Rose Park (June 18)
- Sunrise Park (June 6)
- Sunset Park (June 6)
- Veterans Park (June 10)
“This is a contact herbicide that will kill what it touches,” says Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds Luis Aguinaga. “We’ll be spraying fence lines, parking lots, park signs, paths, courts, etc.”
Patrons are advised to allow the application to dry before resuming use of the fertilized area. Although highly dependent upon temperature and humidity, herbicide products dry within 1-2 hours after application.
