Park district launches wellness circuits at Breiter-Palm Park

Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District is launching the new Breiter-Palm Wellness Circuits program, a monthly fitness and wellness activity designed to promote overall well-being and provide participants with a unique and immersive experience. These sessions will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, June 5, July 3 and August 7, at Breiter-Palm Park, located just south of Memorial on Church Road in Bensenville.

Breiter-Palm Wellness Circuits are tailored to individuals aged 14 and above, aiming to enhance both physical fitness and mental well-being. Each class will begin with a 60-minute circuit training session led by a certified fitness instructor. Participants will engage in a variety of exercises utilizing the park’s outdoor fitness trail, providing an invigorating and challenging workout suitable for all fitness levels.

Following the circuit training, a half-hour wellness circle will take place under the shelter, allowing participants to gather and discuss various topics related to holistic well-being. Led by experienced facilitators, these interactive sessions will cover areas such as nutrition, mindfulness, stress management and resilience. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook and writing utensil to take notes and capture valuable insights from these informative discussions.

“We are excited to introduce the Breiter-Palm Wellness Circuits, providing a comprehensive approach to fitness and wellness within the tranquil surroundings of Breiter-Palm Park,” says Silvia Acevedo, fitness supervisor “This program is designed to cater to individuals of all fitness levels, promoting physical activity while fostering a sense of community and well-being. We encourage participants to embrace this opportunity to prioritize their health and explore a variety of topics that contribute to overall wellness.”

Participants are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and bring water to stay hydrated during the workout. In the event of inclement weather, the class will be relocated to the Deer Grove Leisure Center (DGLC), located at 1000 W. Wood St.

Register in person at the DGLC, or by calling 630-766-7015. The fee for each session is $8, with a discounted rate of $6 available for those residing within the park district boundaries.
