Park district offers two winter break childcare programs

New Winter Break Farm Camp joins Clubhouse Days Off School as affordable options

Bensenville, Ill. (December 8, 2023) — For many years, the Bensenville Park District has offered affordable childcare to serve those living and working in the area. Now, the district is offering another option at Fischer Farm with its Winter Break Farm Camp joining the more established Clubhouse program at the Deer Grove Leisure Center (DGLC).

Winter Break Farm Camp offers children ages 6-10 to keep the holiday adventure going at the Fischer Farm, 16W680 Old Grand Avenue, Bensenville. Winter campers will engage in hands-on history, games, crafts and fun, outdoor activities and hikes.

“Each day promises to be exciting and different,” says Fischer Farm Manager Christine Shiel, who reminds campers to be sure to pack a peanut-free snack, water bottle, boots and snow pants for outdoor hikes, along with a pair of indoor shoes for farmhouse fun.

The program runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday-Friday, December 27-29 and January 3-5. Fees are $39 per person, per day, $29 for those living within park district boundaries. Patrons may sign up for single days or for all of them.

The Clubhouse Days Off School program offers care for children ages 5-12 on school holidays, institute days and in-service days from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the DGLC, 1000 W. Wood Street, Bensenville. Program dates are December 21, 22, 26, 27, 28 and 29 in addition to January 2-5.
