Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District’s new Pickleball for Beginners begins in August and community members can discover one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. This dynamic class focuses on the fundamentals of pickleball, covering essential skills such as serving, forehand and backhand shots and court positioning. Participants will also gain insights into scoring and the rules of the game through engaging drills and play time, allowing them to develop the necessary expertise to enjoy this exciting and fun sport.
The Pickleball for Beginners class offers a well-paced learning environment, providing players ages 17 and older with ample opportunity to hone their skills and enhance their game. All equipment required for the class will be provided, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
“We are delighted to introduce Pickleball for Beginners, as it provides a fantastic opportunity for individuals of all ages and skill levels to experience the thrill of this popular sport,” says Bensenville Park District Superintendent of Recreation Leslie DeMoss. “Whether you’re entirely new to pickleball or looking to refine your techniques, this class is tailored to cater to everyone’s needs.”
Pickleball for Beginners will be offered in three four-week sessions at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, located at 1000 W. Wood Street, Bensenville. The sessions are scheduled from 6-6:50 p.m. on Mondays, Aug. 7-28; 9-9:50 a.m. on Saturdays, Sept. 9-Oct. 7; and 6-6:50 p.m. on Mondays, Oct. 2-30. Fees are $35, with a discounted rate of $25 for those living within the park district boundaries.
