Senior Splash Bash and BBQ offers fun for those 50 and older

Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District is holding a special event tailored to the vibrant senior community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. The fun-filled Senior Splash Bash and BBQ at the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad, located at 1100 W. Wood St, Bensenville, includes a barbecue lunch at the shaded Kiwanis Shelter.

The Senior Splash Bash and BBQ is designed exclusively for active adults age 50 and older. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad all to themselves, allowing for a relaxing and enjoyable outing with friends and neighbors. The event aims to foster a sense of camaraderie and offers a chance to cool off from the summer heat.

“Active adults are an integral part of our community, and we are thrilled to provide them with a unique opportunity to enjoy the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad,” says Program Coordinator for Senior Services Trent Grossman, CPRP, who oversees the park district’s Young at Heart program. “The Senior Splash Bash and BBQ will offer a day of fun, relaxation and socialization, allowing attendees to create lasting memories.”

In addition to exclusive use of the water park facilities, participants will be treated to a delicious barbecue meal, including burgers, hot dogs and refreshing beverages. The park district will ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment, where attendees can savor their meals and engage in friendly conversations with fellow active adults.

The registration fee for the Senior Splash Bash and BBQ is $15 per person ($12 for in-district residents). The fee covers the use of the pool facilities, meal and beverages. Interested individuals should register by May 23 at the Deer Grove Leisure Center (DGLC), 1000 W. Wood Street.

The park district will host another Senior Splash Bash and BBQ, presented by Oak Street Health, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 1. Sign up by July 18 for the August 1 event. Space is limited, and early registration is advised to secure a spot.
